The book is an original edition devoted to a little -known disease in Russia, information about which appeared in the world 40 years ago. The current state of the issue of mucous-bone lymphonodular syndrome (Kavasaki syndrome), clinical material are presented for publication by employees of the department and clinic of childhood diseases MMA named after I.M.Sechenov. Epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, morphological changes, symptoms of the disease are described, which clinically proceeds as an infectious process, and is morphologically characterized by a picture of systemic vasculitis with a high risk of coronary artery damage. Therefore, special attention in the book is given to a detailed description of the features of damage to the heart and coronary arteries, an illustrated detailed methodology for the echographic study of the coronary arteries in children is proposed. Data on the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of Kawasaki syndrome, the effectiveness of the treatment of acute stage of the disease from the standpoint of evidence -based medicine, recommendations for the observation of patients who have undergone acute and subacute stages, indications for surgical treatment of patients with aneurysms and stenosis of the coronary arteries, a brief characteristic of various methods of surgical intervention.
