Meibography with neoplasms of the eyelids

The book presents new approaches to the diagnosis of malignant neoplasms of the eyelids, based on the assessment of the morphofunctional state of the Meibomium glands using modified and patented by the authors of the meibography and osmium dough. Maibography is a high -precision, non -invasive and non -contact method of registering morphological changes in the Mabomye glands, which allows the differential diagnosis of malignant and benign neoplasms of the eyelids with the possibility of determining the boundaries of tumor invasion. The functional activity of the Meibomium glands was quantitatively assessed by Osmium test. Examples of the clinical significance of the developed approaches are given.
The authors believe that the proposed diagnostic techniques based on meibography and the osmium test can be useful when examining patients with various ophthalmopathology, such as dry eye syndrome, anomaly of the position of the eyelids, condition after plastic and aesthetic surgery, etc.
