The book meets the modern epidemiological situation in the incidence of syphilis. In the 90s of the XX century in Russia, the incidence of this infection was characterized by a sharp rise designated as an epidemic. At that time, the early forms of syphilis were prevailed - primary, secondary, early hidden. The peak of the epidemic fell in 1997. In subsequent years, the incidence gradually decreased, but in its structure the proportion of later forms increased many times, both hidden and manifest, with damage to internal organs and nervous system. Features of their identification, diagnosis and treatment are currently acute.
