The leadership of employees of the Saratov State Medical University is devoted to the urgent problem of surgery, namely, to find ways to increase the effectiveness of surgical treatment of acute cholecystitis in a group of elderly patients. The clinical course of acute cholecystitis in this age group is distinguished by the most severe manifestations associated primarily with the presence of serious somatic pathology, causing an extremely high level of postoperative mortality when performing emergency cholecystectomy, reaching 40-80%
The book presents an algorithm for the selection of surgical tactics, which, along with the surgical treatment and conservative measures, is presented with the use of minimally invasive decompression echo controls and improves both direct and distant results of treatment with acute cholecystitis of senior age groups.
The publication is intended for surgeons, clinical residents, and medical university students
