Infectious keratitis affects the population of both developing and developed countries, therefore, the publication describes the difficulties of diagnosing and treating this pathology. The authors give modern classifications of infectious keratitis, focus on achievements in ophthalmology. The problem of herpetic keratitis, the reasons for their frequent recurrence is widely covered.
