The publication includes useful clinical information about viral, bacterial, fungal, protozoan and parasitic diseases found in dogs and cats. Particular attention is paid to the most common diseases, but exotic diseases, such as babisiosis or heart helminthias, are also briefly described.
In this manual, a unique problem-oriented approach was used with a grouping of diseases not by taxonomic classification, but on the principle of damage to the body systems, which was created for the convenience of an employed practitioner. If the causative agent affects several systems, the chapters in which clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and control are described in detail, cross links are given. Diagnostic methods are described, including molecular biological, as well as modern achievements in vaccines. Antimicrobial and antiparasitic drugs are discussed, separately in the application, a mini-reference is given for them. In addition, special control procedures are described, which must be carried out in places of content and accumulation of animals. To highlight the main points, tables and color illustrations are given in all sections.
