The new 5th edition of the textbook consists of two parts, general and special.
The general part discusses the basic information about the infection, the patterns of the infectious process, the features of epidemiology and the classification of infectious diseases in children. Modern methods of laboratory and instrumental diagnostics are presented, the principles of the complex therapy of infectious diseases in children are considered, taking into account the data accumulated in recent years. Particular attention is paid to planned vaccine prevention in children in accordance with the modern national calendar of preventive vaccinations. In a separate section, information on non -specific prevention of infections in children"s groups is presented.
A special part illuminates as classical infections (measles, rubella, veb mononucleosis, meningococcal infection, scarlet fever, polio, etc), thai and emergent, including new ones (pandemic flu, Covid-19, HIV, HIV Infection, VGCh-7 infection, VGC-8 infection, tick-borne borreliosis, etc) An important place is allocated by etiopathogenetic therapy of children of different ages in the hospital and outpatient conditions based on federal clinical recommendations and treatment standards.
