The publication discusses the most important problems of natural and controlled ovarian stimulation, its diverse schemes and means. The value of the monitoring of folliclecologenesis and the assessment of the ovarial reserve, especially in “bad responders” and patients of high risk groups, the need to revise the usual stimulation protocols in order to timely prevent unwanted side effects and its complications syndrome as hypermostimulating ovaries and multiple pregnancy are shown. The advantages of minimal stimulation and IVF are substantiated in the natural cycle from the standpoint of clinical efficiency, safety and profitability, especially in combination with the transfer of embryos that have tired after cryoponservation. The latest achievements in the field of ovarian stimulation, such as obtaining a highly active long -acting alpha cororilitropin (recombinant DNA product) and the development of an automated system for calculating the volume of follicles according to ultrasound (Sonoavc) are described
