The importance of immunity in maintaining genetic homeostasis of individuals and the dependence of cancer aggression on disorders in the immune system is considered. Disorders of immunity are characterized under the influence of adverse internal and external factors, a direct dependence of the formation of tumors on the degree and duration of adverse effects on the immune system is shown. The differences in the antigenic structure of tumor and normal tissues, the mechanisms for eliminating the tumor from immunological supervision and the suppressive effect on the immunity of products secreted by tumor cells are analyzed. The techniques of cancer chemotherapy, features of the effects of humoral and cellular immunity, achievements due to the combined effect on the tumor of chemotherapy and immunotherapy are characterized. The factors of increasing the immunogenicity of tumor antigens, achievements in the creation of antitumor vaccines, as well as means and structures that provide directed delivery of drugs to tumor cells are considered. Developments in the field of targeted immunotherapy of cancer are discussed
