The textbook was compiled in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education in the specialty 31.05.01 "Medicine", the level of education "Specialty", approved by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of February 9, 2016 No. 95 and professional standard "Doctor" -the item (district general doctor) ", approved by order of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection dated 03.21.2017 No. 293n.
A textbook is intended for foreign students studying medicine in Russia. The innovation of this manual is that the authors analyze the history of medicine from the standpoint of the civilizational approach, give characteristics of the eras. In accordance with the features of civilizations, general laws and features of the development of healing of this culture and people are displayed. Social stories of medicine are made into separate paragraphs on relevant topics. The manual consists of two parts - in English and Russian, each contains seven lectures that reflect the development of world medicine at the stage of pre -industrial societies. The manual provides plans for seminars on which these topics are being studied at the Ural State Medical University, and a list of literature. Therefore, students who are not familiar with English can use this manual. It will also be useful to teachers, graduate students and students interested in this history of medicine. The English text is equipped with illustrations.
