In a book devoted to the development of medicine as a branch of natural science knowledge in the XVII - XXI centuries, it is shown that the historical process of the development of medicine was not a linear evolutionary development related to the gradual growth of knowledge about the human body, its diseases, methods and means of treatment and prevention. The vast factual material proves that during the XVII - XXI centuries. Five disciplinary scientific revolutions occurred in European medicine, each of which led to a radical revision of ideas about the fundamental foundations of life, the causes and essence of diseases, approaches to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of human diseases. The causes and mechanisms of each scientific revolution were revealed, their character was established, a historical reconstruction of paintings of the study reality studied during these scientific revolutions was carried out.
