This edition considers the foundations of geriatrics. The authors set themselves the task in a brief, summary form to give an idea of the variety of medical, social and ethical problems that every doctor who provides assistance to the elderly patient is faced. The principles of a geriatric assessment, an integral approach to the management of a patient of older age are presented. Issues of prevention, diagnosis and treatment are reflected through the prism of changes in organs and systems of the body associated with aging.
