The book presents modern data on etiology and pathogenesis of functional diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in children, diagnostics and treatment algorithms prepared by experienced pediatricians, gastroenterologists and psychiatrists based on national and international clinical recommendations.
Clinical recommendations that reliably characterize the effectiveness and safety of medical and diagnostic measures are an international standard for medical care. However, hospitals and clinics have a different level of technical, financial and personnel support, which sometimes complicates following a number of modern recommendations in a particular medical institution. International experience shows that in such a situation it is advisable for each institution to develop standard plans for patients with an established clinical diagnosis. The plan should determine the optimal volume and sequence of medical and diagnostic measures, taking into account the existing technical, financial and personnel capabilities, ways to interact with other organizations, rely on clinical recommendations, take into account state requirements for the procedure for providing medical care. It has been proven that the introduction of patients" management plans in the clinical practice improves the results of medical care, reduces the number of complications, and can optimize expenses.
