The book is based on many years of experience in observing and treating children with extrahepatic portal hypertension with a complicated course and concomitant diseases. Clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods, conservative treatment, indications for operations, technique of surgical interventions, conducting the postoperative period and rehabilitation are considered. The data of domestic and foreign literature were used, tested by clinical practice. A wide range of pathogenetically substantiated simultaneous, sometimes stage surgery is presented, with the designation of anatomical toopographic formations of the most dangerous ones that make it difficult to perform operations and indications of preventing possible technical errors. A comparative analysis of the methods of modern treatment of patients with complicated forms of extrahepatic portal hypertension and concomitant diseases has been carried out. Algorithms for the diagnosis and treatment of complicated forms of portal hypertension in children are offered. Significant attention is paid to the assessment of direct and distant results of treatment, the quality of life of children after surgical interventions.
