For the first time, the ethical code of the nurse of Russia was developed at the proposal of the interregional association of nurses of Russia with the support of the American International Development Agency (USAID) and Vold Vision Vision International. The first edition of the Ethics Code was adopted in the first reading of the III All -Russian Conference on Nursing in June 1996, considered by the ethical committee of Russia and approved by the problem committee of the nursing department of the educational institutions of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in April 1997
The development of nursing practice, medical science and technology, a change in social values and views on the role and place of the patient in the process of providing medical assistance caused the need to revise and supplement the individual provisions of the Ethics Code. At the suggestion of the Association of nurses of Russia, a new version of the document was developed. The Ethics Code was presented for discussion and reviewing, approved by the All -Russian conference of the Association of nurses of Russia in September 2010 and adopted by the Board of the Association
