The textbook discusses the main provisions of general epidemiology, presents its modern features and directions of the prevention of relevant infectious and parasitic, nosocomial and mass non -infectious human diseases. Information on epidemiology and disease prevention is set out with an emphasis on pathologies that are most relevant for healthcare of Russia due to their high prevalence and socio-economic significance.
The textbook is illustrated by schemes, graphs and tables and consists of two sections: general epidemiology and special part. After each thematic section, tasks for self -control are given. The first section gives a characteristic of the basic epidemiological concepts, the content of the epidemiological method of research is revealed, the doctrine of the epidemic process is described, the epidemiological significance of various sources of the pathogen of infection is highlighted. Examples of organization and conduct of preventive and anti -epidemic measures are given, the organization of immunoprophylaxis and disinfection is described. A special section of the textbook contains a characteristic of epidemiological characteristics of the most significant infectious and non -infectious diseases, infections associated with the provision of medical care, and the principles of protecting the country"s territory from the importation of infectious diseases.
The textbook was prepared in accordance with the federal state educational standards of higher education in the level of specialty in the areas of training on 05/31/01 Treatment and on 05/31/02 Pediatrics.
