Igestic of congenital heart defects is one of the most difficult sections in cardiology and echocardiography. Thanks to modern technologies in echocardiography and prenatal diagnosis of the fetal heart, diagnosis of congenital heart defects has become earlier, which contributed to a significant reduction in the number of adult patients with this pathology. However, at present, you can meet patients with various congenital heart defects even at a very respectable age.
This publication contains the story of a description of one or another congenital defect, a detailed analysis of hemodynamics, the features of echocardiographic diagnosis. The book was written by the employees of the Department of Ultrasonic Diagnostics of the Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Postgraduate Education (base - GKB named after S.P. Botkin, Moscow) and includes all the basic congenital heart disease in adults from the position of echocardiography. Much attention is also paid to differential diagnosis in echocardiography in case of suspicion of congenital heart disease in the patient, the peculiarities of heart examination in children and adolescents, and small abnormalities of the heart development. The publication contains a large number of illustrations and schemes, as well as examples of echocardiographic conclusions.
