The monograph is devoted to important both theoretical and practical terms about the mechanisms of heart damage during diphtheria intoxication. The theoretical significance of the problem under consideration is due to the fact that diphtheria toxin has a diverse effect on the cell, and the multifacetedness of this influence is largely clearly defined. On the other hand, the heart due to rhythmic functioning and repeated repeatability of its cycle is an object of study that allows you to quite accurately correlate the effectiveness of the damaging effect with changes in the function of the organ. The interest in this problem on the part of practice is due to the fact that in our country the incidence of diphtheria has given a significant rise, both in children and in particular, in people of mature age, the severity of the course of the disease is largely due to damage to the heart. The results of the study can be useful for practice in connection with the development of effective methods of treating heart disorders in diphtheria.
