The proposed book is devoted to extremely important for specialists in the field of dentistry issues of diagnosis and structure of diagnosis of periodontal diseases and domestic and international classifications of periodontal diseases. Based on the general medical principles of the doctrine of nosology, the authors analyze the interpretation of nosological forms in periodontology, which are unified for other sections of dentistry. For the first time, this book presents a brief analytical review of both previously created and recently adopted domestic and international classifications. It is the general -medical base that underlies this work that allows the authors to reasonably express their not only positive, but also critical judgments regarding the classifications proposed to specialists, to highlight not only their advantages, but also the fairly controversial provisions of many of them. The book is intended for a wide range of readers - students, teachers of higher educational institutions, cadets on the cycles of postgraduate learning and practicing doctors - since all theoretical materials are most closely linked to purely practical questions
