Diagnosis of malignant tumors on serous exudates. Cytological atlas

The atlas has been prepared as a practical guide for the cytological study of pleural and peritoneal exudates in various malignant neoplasms.
The book describes in detail the cytological picture of reactive exudates, metastatic exudates with various localization of the primary tumor, individual chapters are devoted to mesothelioma and pseudomixom. The possibilities of the immunocytochemical method in conducting differential diagnosis of reactive and metastatic exudate in diagnostically complex observations, determining the source of metastasis with an unidentified primary tumor focus were demonstrated. The high efficiency and speed of the immunofluorescence method with urgent intraoperative studies of exudates is shown in order to clarify the prevalence of the tumor process.
