The textbook summarizes information on the development of ophthalmology, presented modern data on the anatomy and physiology of the organ of vision, the methods of its study. A description of the etiology and pathogenesis of congenital and acquired diseases of the organ of vision and its auxiliary apparatus, as well as their clinical picture, methods of treatment and prevention with the list of basic medical manipulations that average medical workers should own. Particular attention is paid to modern methods of treatment and first aid issues for violations of hydrodynamics in the structures of the eye and in case of damage to the organ of vision. The issues of psychological care for patients and HIV prevention are also highlighted.
