The monograph is devoted to the description of one of the most common methods of visualization of the brain of infants - classical ultrasonography, including compulsory survey through the front fontanel and, when identifying pathology, through some additional ultrasonic windows. The publication contains great factual material, illustrations of the most common cerebral pathology in newborns of various gestational age are presented. Along with a demonstration of excellent diagnostic capabilities, the shortcomings of cranial sonography are highlighted - the smaller the front fontanel, the less area of intracranial neuroimaging and higher the risk of a “dangerous medical error”.
The monograph is intended for doctors of ultrasonic diagnostics, neonatologists, neurologists, pediatricians
