Over the past fifty years, the main concepts of immunology have undergone significant evolution: from immunology, based mainly on the discrimination of "its" and "non-sowing", to the recognition of the danger initiated by the cells of innate immunity and allowing to activate adaptive immunity to the set of antigens. This new paradigm forced immunologists to review their view to the immune response to infections and tumors, as well as study the mechanisms of various diseases in the light of these new concepts. New forms of immunotherapy were also proposed.
