Anatomy of the eye socket is one of the most complex areas of ophthalmology. It is necessary for detailed knowledge not only of ophthalmologists, but also by all specialists who have to touch on this zone in their practice.
This book is not just an anatomical atlas. Detailed explanations in the text are aimed at helping the reader to master the functional morphology of the eye socket. Each chapter is devoted to various anatomical systems such as extracular muscles, arteries and nerves of the eye socket. The anatomical system is initially represented in isolation to show important features of its structure, then additional systems are added, starting with extraocular muscles in order to demonstrate anatomical relationships and ending with bones. In separate chapters, attention is paid to such structures as fat and connective tissue components of the eye socket, lacrimal system, eyelids. Separately, with the help of a series of microphotography, the histological structure of the eye socket is represented.
