The presented publication is an atlas of anatomy of small mammals for students studying morphology, veterinary medicine and zoology. Excellent quality of color illustrations makes the atlas with an indispensable textbook in which, using the example of a dog, cats, rabbit, rat and guinea pigs, information on the anatomy of all systems of organs is given in a comparative aspect.
This textbook facilitates the assimilation of the material due to the following principles of illumination of the material:
- various systems of organs are described separately, it seems that the arrangement of the organs of both one and different systems relative to each other seems to be the opportunity, which creates a holistic impression of the whole body.
- the anatomy of the male and females is given on adjacent pages, which makes a comparative analysis of their anatomy very easy.
- there are several times common to all described species - on the corresponding pages, and specific for this type - only once, which facilitates the memorization of the individual characteristics of the anatomy of each specific type.
- In the introduction, the authors introduce the reader to the basics of anatomical nomenclature, which makes this atlas accessible to beginners.
- the drawings are not overloaded with details, the emphasis is placed on the main organs and their topographic interconnection, on the other hand, the Atlas fully displays the anatomy of small pets.
