The manual presents a list of concepts and terms used in the modern descriptive system Bi-Rads adapted to everyday clinical work. A detailed description of the categories assigned as a result of a comprehensive radiation study will simplify the introduction of classification into the routine practice of specialists involved in the assessment of the state of the mammary glands.

A richly illustrated publication, with visual clinical examples can be used both for primary learning in the framework of clinical residency, and in the process of increasing the qualification of practitioners of doctors.

This manual is intended for practitioners of radiation diagnostics, radiologists, ultrasound specialists, doctors of magnetic resonance imaging, mammologists, oncologists, and general practitioners.

breast cancer (breast cancer), being, according to global statistics, one of the most common oncological diseases, requires special attention from radiation diagnostics. Directly participating in the initial detection of the tumor, doctors of diagnostic specialties should not only have basic knowledge in oncology and high professional qualifications, but also follow modern trends of intensively developing world medicine.

The ability to identify breast cancer at the preclinical stage is one of the priority tasks facing the doctors of all specialties participating in the diagnosis. Modern methods of radiation diagnostics, having a high resolution, but used in isolation or in the wrong sequence, may not give a complete idea of the nature of the identified changes. The competent use of diagnostic techniques, a clear idea of the capabilities of each of them not only facilitates differential diagnosis, but also contributes to the maximum detection of the pathological process.

X-ray mammography (RMG) is still the gold standard in the diagnosis of breast cancer. The non -invasiveness and harmlessness of echography in combination with high informativeness complements and detail the resulting diagnostic picture. The possibilities of magnetic resonance imaging with dynamic contrasting reinforcement as the most informative and clarifying method are used, in particular, for in-depth diagnosis of the prevalence of the tumor process in planning surgical interventions.

The need for continuity between different methods of radiation diagnostics, the correct interpretation of the results of the conducted examination by the clinicians led to the emergence of the modern classification of Bi-Rads (Breast Imaging and Reporting Data System) This system not only allows you to objectify the data obtained during the study by assigning categories, but also forms an algorithm for further actions of both radiation diagnostics and clinicians. It should be mentioned of an important aspect, which for the first time pays attention in modern literature, such as the active informing of the attending physician about the changes identified in the process of diagnosis.

The interpretation of the classification of Bi-Rads presented in this publication is not a literal translation-a tracing-paper of the English-language version. This is a laconic, extremely adapted to routine work, the classification option, including the result of the daily work of the authors as radiation diagnosticians.

The widespread implementation of classification in everyday work medical institutions (HPPs) standardizes the work of radiation diagnosticians, mammologists, oncologists and will ultimately contribute to an increase in the efficiency of the entire oncological service
