A monograph on the problem of age -related androgenic deficiency, written and published in 2006, not only ahead of time, but also became a scientific sensation, as well as a table book of all urologists of Russia.
Age androgenic deficiency, despite high prevalence, has not been studied enough. The relevance of the problem is due to the fact that the deficiency of androgens is manifested not only by impaired sexual function, but also associated with many age diseases (obesity, diabetes, coronary heart disease, osteoporosis, etc), worsening their course and prognosis.
Over the 13 years that have passed since the release of the publication, the problem of age -related androgenic deficiency has gone beyond endocrinology and became interdisciplinary, and not only did not lose relevance, but also, due to the global aging of society, as well as the emergence of the concept of “quality of life” , became social, in connection with which the need for a reprint of the monograph has risen.
The main text of the monograph is reprinted unchanged, and the new experience accumulated since 2006 is presented in applications to the publication.
