The monograph is devoted to the problems of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS): its definition and modern classification. The main focus is paid to the so -called High -Great ARDS, risk factors for its development, pathogenesis mechanisms, leading to resistant hypoxemia, morphological changes in the lungs. The role of the disseminated microelectase of alveoli as one of the main causes of arterial hypoxemia is emphasized. Data on the diagnosis of the ARDS, its clinical manifestations are given, depending on the stage of the process, radiological semiotics and laboratory tests. The most monograph is devoted to the description of modern methods of eliminating hypoxemia using special methods of artificial and auxiliary ventilation of the lungs, as well as non -focused auxiliary methods that contribute to the straightening of the slender alveoli. Based on the data of numerous studies and the authors" own experience, indications and contraindications are presented to the described methods of restoring blood oxygenation in the lungs, the features of respiratory support, depending on the stage of the extra -how -handed ARDS. The book is intended for anesthesiologists, resuscitators, surgeons, therapists, pulmonologists, as well as other specialists involved in the treatment of seriously ill patients with acute respiratory failure
