In a monograph on the problem of acute pancreatitis, the issues of the anatomy and physiology of the pancreas, etiology, pathogenesis and the classification of acute inflammation of the pancreas are sequentially highlighted. Particular attention is paid to determining the severity of the course and forecast of the development of the disease.
