The uninvited guest of Europe of the XIV-XV centuries, black death bursts into the palaces and modest shacks of Florence, destroying both wealthy and disadvantaged in his path. Not knowing the true causes of the plague, the distraught people are up on Jews. The poor dancer Fiori, persecuting the crowd, falls on the villa of the noble nobleman Silvio Faletti, where he finds a temporary refuge and saving love.
