The book is based on a highly expanded course of lectures, which the author read to students of senior courses of the biological faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. Unlike Tom 1, which mainly covered the issues of the structure and functions of genomes and the related regulatory molecules, in volume 2, emphasis is on complex systems, in which the genome either takes a direct part or initiates their independent functioning. In this regard, the reader"s attention draws to philosophical problems associated with the emergence of unpredictable arising ("emergent") properties that are characteristic of such systems, and the existence of some unsolvable biology problems is indicated as the principle of uncertainty exists in physics. Much attention is paid to stochastic processes, which also introduce unpredictability to the functional properties of biological systems. In this regard, the role of the mutation genome in the processes of evolution and in the occurrence of diseases constantly arising during the functioning of the genome of mutations is considered. Attention is drawn to the medical consequences of these processes. The book contains an extensive bibliography, including the most modern original or sightseeing articles.
For teachers, students and graduate students of biological faculties of universities, as well as a wide range of specialists working in the field of biology, biotechnology and biomedicines
