The study is devoted to the study of the foundations and methods to overcome long-term proceedings in the civilian process of the Russian Federation. The content of the right to legal proceedings is analyzed within a reasonable term in the civil and arbitration processes of Russia. The concept of a reasonable term of legal proceedings is given, the legal nature of the institution of compensation for violating a reasonable term of legal proceedings is investigated. The causes of long justice in Russia are being investigated, an analysis of the experience of overcoming judicial rolls in European countries is carried out. The author proposes to solve the problem of a civilistic process as a change and determination of the legal nature of the institution of compensation for violating a reasonable term of legal proceedings at the legislative level, the introduction of experience of European countries into national legislation, the formation of legal society by popularizing the principle of conscientiousness in the Russian procedural law and alternative ways to resolve disputes.
