The textbook is written in accordance with the current standards of physical specialties of universities and is intended both to support the development of a lecture course, and for independent work. The presentation of fundamental issues uses a traditional methodological approach, while the novelty of the textbook is determined primarily by selecting the material and updating the internal logic of the course. The connections of mechanics with other sections of theoretical physics were strengthened - from atomic physics and plasma physics to solid physics and cosmology. The proportion of the mechanics of the continuous environment is increased in the course that has become its organic part due to the transition from the mechanics of material points to the mechanics of systems of a large number of particles (gas -dynamics with elements of thermodynamics) with access to the phenomenology of the continuum. On this basis, the mechanics of ideal and viscous gases and liquids, elastic and inelastic deformable solids are presented on this basis. The last chapter of the textbook represents an overview of the relevant areas of modern mechanics of complex systems-hereditary mechanics, mesomechanics, fractionalized mechanics, non-linear dynamics, etc. Despite the attraction of mathematical means such as functional derivatives of fractional order, non-linear, integral and integro-radical equations, book It is written at a level available to students of physical and engineering specialties of universities, and can be used in studying the initial section of the course of theoretical physics. Grif: UMO was admitted by classical university education of the Russian Federation as a textbook for university students studying in the areas of training in “Physics” and “Radiophysics”
