Measure of meaning. Current segmentation and adequacy of translation

The monograph summarizes and systematize scientific data on the problem of artistic translation, translation transformations in synchronies and diachrony. The study graphically analyzes the work of intelligence at the time of understanding the text in the original language and the selection of translation transformations in the conditions, the most vividly demonstrating the movements of thought in the consciousness of the translator:
1) when transferring proposals with a similar lexico-grammatical structure in English and Russian languages for syntactic transformations,
2) When translating the capacious but meaning of words requiring value compensation, i.e. In cases where the author"s intent does not coincide with the conventional value of text elements for lexical transformations.
The results of this analysis suggest that the adequacy of the translation is based on such a new scientific concept as a measure of the meaning, which determines the choice of translation equivalents at various structural levels of the text.
