What can one rely on in a world drowning in lies, and what can be the way out? Shakespeare's Hamlet once agonized over this question. Writer and philosopher Igor Shnurenko answers this question with his autobiographical novel 'Maybe, in Spring'. He attempts to honestly tell the story of himself and his generation, who grew up during a time when the country scattered like a gang of criminals. The novel's hero cannot come to terms with the 'normalcy' that conceals emptiness, an algorithmic world where personality takes on prescribed forms. What demons hide behind the appearances of this 'normal world', what games do they play with people, what do they expect from them? In a dramatic situation, the hero sees his life as if in a movie: discoveries and shocks, women, countries and cities, love, friendship, happiness gained and lost... He painstakingly collects his memories like a saving ark, capable of protecting him from the relentlessly approaching flood.
