Mathematical modeling of heat conduction processes using the finite element method

Formulations of stationary and non-stationary heat conduction problems are provided. The main features of constructing numerical solutions to these problems within the framework of finite element technology are considered.
For students of the 3rd and 4th years of the 'Fundamental Sciences' faculty of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, studying disciplines such as 'Mathematical Physics Equations', 'Computational Methods', 'Mathematical Modeling', 'Applied Engineering Analysis Packages', 'Mathematical Models of Continuum Mechanics' and working on corresponding coursework. It may also be useful for senior students of other faculties studying numerical methods for solving boundary value and initial-boundary value problems.
