The purpose of the manual is to help students master the basic concepts and research methods used in the theory of optimal control. The basics of mathematical modeling are provided. Mathematical methods for decision-making in linear, nonlinear, and dynamic problems of optimal functioning of socio-economic processes are systematized. Numerous examples of applying these methods to solving applied problems are given for each section. Special attention is paid to comparing the proposed methods, choosing the correct research scheme, analyzing examples, and examining complex situations that arise when studying the mentioned sections of decision-making theory and optimal control methods.
