Materials Science and Materials Processing Technology

The physical and mechanical foundations of material science, the patterns of the formation of the structure of materials in the process of crystallization, plastic deformation, heat treatment were set out. Particular attention is paid to phase transformations in solid state, hardening mechanisms. Technological methods for managing the structure and properties of alloys, the main properties of structural and instrumental materials are given.
The processes that occur in the manufacture of products in steam-gas, liquid, solid-liquid and solid phases are considered. Recommendations are given to ensure the technological work of blanks and parts of the machines in their design. Attention is paid to the basics of technologies for obtaining workpieces with welding and cutting by cutting. Examples of the design and manufacture of parts are given, taking into account the mechanical and technological properties of the alloys used and the type of production.
