This book is about the life of man of medieval street. Our hero - more often hypothetical - rarely has its own name. But even the nameless, he was not necessarily unhappy or homeless and, as we learn from one Egyptian joke of the Caliphate time, playing the key from the door of a non -existent house in order to simulate a “worthy position” in the eyes of a street crowd. This person is a man or woman, whether the craftsman, or a successful merchant, is simply a prosperous, or even noble person, which, for example, Kitik Mohammed (little Mohammed), better known as Mamai and to whom in the second half of the XIV century. The Golden Horde city belonged to Solkhat-Crime, could become the hero of any of the essays only under one condition: his activity was supposed to be reflected in the material culture of his time. An attempt to characterize the street of a medieval city through a chain of carefully selected artifacts that do not belong to the palace life is not new, but as a system of specific observations - it is carried out for the first time and is unique in its own way
