The research of Doctor of Historical Sciences Natalia Lebina is dedicated to the gender background of Khrushchev's reforms, that is, the relationships between men and women during the period of partial destruction of totalitarian models of marital and family relations, fatherhood and motherhood, and sexual behavior. The focus is on the intersections of the intimate and public spheres: how government directives were combined with cinema and literature in their impact on private life, why and when everyday life readily responded to legislative initiatives, how language reacted to social changes, and finally, what the phenomenon of freedom approved from above and emerging against the background of an etatist model of life organization is.
