The proposed collection consists of three early stories by the famous Belgian writer, master of detective fiction, Georges Simenon, one of which is Le petit tailleur et le chapelier, published in English and awarded the Ellery Queen Prize for Best Detective Story. It was adapted into a film in 1982, starring the renowned composer and singer Charles Aznavour. The story Les petits cochons sans queue was made into a feature film in France in 2004. The third story, Sous peine de mort, served as the basis for a Swiss television film created in 1960.
The book can be used as additional reading material by students studying French at lower levels of language universities, foreign language faculties, foreign language courses, and by individuals studying French independently.
