This book is the memories and thoughts of an amazing person, whose fate truly reflected the entire 20th century. Nikolai Alekseevich Raevsky - an officer of the imperial and white armies, a participant in the Civil War, a doctor of biological sciences, writer and thinker - was known to the wide reader as a researcher of life and work of A.S. Pushkin. But Raevsky’s works in this area are only one of the directions of his interests. Most of his creative activity is devoted to the description and comprehension of the tragic events of Russian history, the participant of which he was: the civil war, the outcome of the Russian army from Crimea and life in emigration. For the first time, two works are published in this book, directly known to our readers “Gallipoli Diary”: “Russian garrison in Bulgaria” and “Organization - Sofia - Prague”. They were based on diary entries that Captain Raevsky made in 1921-1924 - unique, poorly studied materials about the life of the Bulgarian period of the White Army. They are also interesting in that in addition to the description of the events taking place, the author tries to analyze and understand the reasons for the defeat of the white movement, focusing on his political miscalculations. This approach to evaluating the events described noticeably distinguishes them from the well -known White Guard literature
