Roberto Scarphone, an Italian journalist accredited in Russia back in 1991, presents his new book in Russian.
In those vague 90s Scarfon, who once began his journalistic activity as a photographer, turned his eyes to ancient photographs. Having shown a rare foresight, for ten years with amazing perseverance he collected a collection, which now has over 5,000 old pictures, unique negatives, dagerrotypes, many of which are a real rarity.
The historical and artistic value of this collection cannot be overestimated. The author believes that today the collection needs to be placed somewhere, it is possible to make it part of the archive open to all lovers of art, researchers and the general public. And maybe the time has come to create in Russia the likeness of the Florentine Museum of Alinari - perhaps in Kaliningrad (Könisgsberg), with whom R. Scarfon"s story is associated with
