The first independent Russian philological magazine "New Literary Review" sets its task as the most complete and objective coverage of the modern state of Russian literature and culture, revision of obsolete categories and cliches of domestic literary criticism, understanding the problems of Russian literature in a wide world cultural context.
The editorial board of "UFO" includes the most famous Russian and Western specialists in literature and humanities. “UFO” offers an overview of modern philological, historical and literary, generally humanitarian thought, which is based on the desire of editors and authors to consider the whole range of approaches to studying literature, as far as possible to master the Western theoretical experience and integrate it into the current their own theoretical tradition.
For 15 years, the magazine has become a leading Russian publication in the field of history and theory of literature, the sociology of culture and cultural studies. Materials published in the "UFO" are becoming an event for the philological community and are included in the program for the mandatory training of students of humanitarian universities.
The circulation "UFO" - 2.5 - 3 thousand copies. Most of the circulation diverges in scientific and public libraries. "New Literary Review" is included in the list of publications recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation, the publication in which is counted by applicants for the scientific degree of a doctor of sciences. An article in UFO is also an advantage for applicants for obtaining a degree of PhD in US scientific institutions. Due to the special significance of the project, the publication of the journal "UFO is supported by the means of Grant of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications
