This is the first scientific biography of the famous Soviet scientist, professor, entomologist -tacterist and zoogeographer, creator in the USSR of the Scientific School of Mirmecologists - specialists in the systematics and ecology of ants. Of great interest are the studies of the scientist in the field of geographical variability of insects, the concept put forward by him about the structure of their range, work on the "entomological zone" formed by relict species of tertiary insects that survived the ice age. The Arnoldi collected by K.V. Arnoldi in the Caucasus, Crimea and Central Asia of the collection of insects replenished funds of zoological museums of Moscow and Leningrad. In the preparation of the book, an extensive archival material and the correspondence of the scientist were used.
