The name of George Guryanov (1961 - 2013) is known to millions of fans of the Kino group, in which since 1984 he has been a permanent drummer. Guryanov’s game (at that time as well as well as Gustav) was distinguished by a stylish manner - he drummed up standing. At the same time, he had a strong influence on the image of the group. But the main case of his life was painting. And again, increased attention was paid to the style. Guryanov’s talent as an artist-neo-Aacademist was fully revealed in the 90s. Participation in numerous exhibitions contributed to world recognition. After the death of Guryanov, he was named the most expensive Russian artist of the last decade. The main topics of his paintings were athletes, pilots and sailors.
Guryanov’s contribution to the modern cultural process was not limited to painting. Being always on the tip of fashion trends, Guryanov took an active part in the Russian rave movement. He was one of the organizers of the first rav-sabotage, developed logos and symbols for them.
The book consists of two parts. In the first part, George talks about himself, answering questions from journalists. In the second, friends and acquaintances remember him. As it is correctly said on these pages, each has their own Guryanov. One thing is undoubted: he was a really large artist who unmistakably felt a style, distinguished by an impeccable taste in matters of culture, who had every right to say: “I am art!”
