Having gathered together an interview covering the period from 1986 to 2020, Yuri Polyakov offers readers a kind of "involuntary diary", filled with many thoughts, details and details that help to understand "rock events", as well as the author’s internal evolution. The writer is not afraid to seem rebuilding, mistaken and partly, perhaps, disappointed, but with all this he is extremely honest, frank and independent in his judgments and assessments. It just so happened that a real writer in Russia is traditionally involved in politics and social life, so the problems raised in the interview go far beyond literature.
In the first collection "from the Lies" Empire - to the Republic of Vranya" (1986-2005), such important events as perestroika, August coup, the collapse of the USSR, the shooting of the White House, the first Chechen war. The author speaks quite sharply about the Yeltsin reforms and the new government, criticizes the engagement of the media, and defends traditional cultural values and Russian civilization. His forecasts are surprisingly accurate.
In the subsequent two collections - "Office" (2006-2013) and "at the risk zone" (2014-2020) - the conversation about the main thing continues, but already adjusted for a new reality
