"Foreign Literature" ("Il") is a Russian literary and artistic journal specializing in the publications of translated literature. The magazine was founded in July 1955 as the Board of the Board of the Union of Writers of the USSR, it is published monthly.
Foreign prose and poetry, essays and essays, documentary prose, letters and memoirs, articles and interviews, laureates of the Nobel, Buker, Goncur premiums and rising stars - all this in Russian is published in "silt" for the first time , in the translations of the best domestic translators. The motto of the magazine - "Find out tomorrow"s classics!".
On the pages of "Foreigners", large figures of modern and classical literature, laureates of the Buker Prize of recent years are still published. Prose writer, poets, playwrights who previously unknown to the Russian reader are printed in the journal - they give great hopes in their countries, receive national awards, but they are translated for the first time into Russian.
In the journal, in almost every issue, reviews, annotations, reviews on the works of foreign authors, issued in Russian, as well as in the original language, articles devoted to urgent problems of artistic translation are printed
