Krasnov Peter Nikolaevich already in early creativity declared himself as a defender of the monarchy, old foundations and the traditions of the Don Cossacks. In 1887-98 he was sent to Abyssenia as the head of the convoy under the Russian diplomatic mission to Negus Menelik. For three months, Krasnov made a dangerous transition to camels and mules in the Somali desert and the Danician mountains. For 11 days, he delivered a package with secret correspondence from Abyssinia to St. Petersburg. For the implementation of this task, Krasnov was promoted to Podesauly and, in addition to Russian awards (Order of Stanislav 2nd century), was marked by the officer cross of the Ethiopian star of the 3rd century. and the French Order of the Legion of Honor.
