The book by writer and journalist Mikhail Yuryevich Belyat, who lived and worked in Latin America for seventeen years before the collapse of the USSR, tells the story of the path of an international journalist, the metamorphoses of consciousness associated with this profession, the realities of existence of our colonies abroad, and the price one has to pay for success and career. The main character of the narrative, as well as the people around him, are fictional characters, and the circumstances and situations mentioned in the book, although real, never actually happened. However, many of us will find the people, events, and life conflicts described here familiar. The book is aimed at a wide range of readers, as well as the professional journalism community.
